Anniversaries
Ipswich Corn Exchange
Saturday 18 April 2009, 7.30pm
2009 is a special anniversary year for Trianon, but so it is too for three composers whose music has been in the Classical Top Charts constantly: Handel, Haydn and Mendelssohn will receive extra attention in 2009. Handel died 250 years ago; Haydn died 200 years ago in the same year that Mendelssohn was born. To complete the programme, Trianon performs music by two 'living' composers: the joyful collection of psalms for choir and orchestra composed by its President, John Rutter, and one of three Nocturnes by Morton Lauridsen, for mixed choir and piano.
Haydn Te Deum, Hob 23, no.2
Mendelssohn Hebrides Overture
Morten Lauridsen Sure on this Shining Night (Nocturne no.3)
Handel Fireworks Music
John Rutter Psalmfest
Conductor: Christopher Green
Soloists: Wendy Fee (soprano) (not Julie Roberts as previously advertised)
and Richard Reaville (tenor)
