CELEBRATING 50 YEARS OF TRIANON MUSIC GROUP
BUY A BAR FOR 2009
Thank you to all who contributed.

Trianon has a proud record of performing new music and commissioning new works.

In pursuit of this tradition, the Group successfully sought support to cover part of the cost of four new works commissioned for and to be performed during the 2009 Jubilee Year. The works are:

Matthew Curtis
Matthew Curtis - Fifty Not Out
A new concert overture by this young English composer whose music has already made a very positive impression on the Trianon Orchestra. The work was premiered in January 2009 by the Orchestra and enthusiastically received.
Andrew Burke
Andrew Burke -Golden Year
A work for Choir and Orchestra bringing together a stream of wonderful songs depicting the 50 years since the Music group was formed in 1959 and each linked to a letter of the title. This work was also premiered in January 2009 by the Choir and Orchestra.

Debbie WisemanDebbie Wiseman -All Our Voices A work for Choir and Orchestra written by this celebrated film and television composer whose credits include Judge John Deed, Michael Palin’s New Europe and Tom’s Midnight Garden, and with words by Don Black, who has written a clutch of Bond songs as well as contributing songs to Starlight Express and Song and Dance.

The work will be premiered in September 2009 by the Choir and Orchestra.

a work for choir and string orchestra, with words by Joanna Clark, winner of The Times 2007 Poetry Competition.  This work was premiered 28 February 2009 at the community concert at St Mary's Church, Grundisburgh and performed for a second time at St Nicholas Church Hintlesham on 9 May 2009.

Buy a Bar met its target of £1,800 with each bar costing £1. Contributors’ names will be listed in the Souvenir Programmes The amount of each individual donation will not be disclosed – just the total.

The Buy a Bar initiative was administered on behalf of Trianon Music Group by Mr and Mrs C Burrows (long-time Friends of Trianon), to whom we are extremely grateful.
