Be. Bird -Contralto I became a member of the 'The Trianon Music Group' in 1971 and thirty-seven years later, I'm still singing with them and thoroughly enjoying the experience - how time flies!
Trianon has given me the opportunity to perform a wide range of music in different venues around East Anglia and abroad. Wonderful friendships have been forged from the sheer joy of making music with so many different people from all walks of life.
It has been both a pleasure and a privilege to be member of a unique and great organisation and I look forward to 2009 and our Golden Year celebration concerts and events. |

David Ruddock – Bass Having been an active member of Trianon for over 30 years ought to say it all ! I started in the orchestra playing viola and then joined the choir as a bass/baritone. As well as singing in the three major concerts each year I have sung regularly with the smaller choir for its community concerts.
I particularly enjoy the variety of music we sing in our three major concerts a year, and the “small” choir repertoire in our community concerts.
In 2007, with Chris Green, I directed an Elgar Study Day in celebration of the composer's 150th anniversary of his birth, and co-conducted members of Trianon Choir during their visit to Arras, France .

Francesca Ridley – Soprano I have been in Trianon for 18 months. My first involvement came through Kesgrave High School (which I attend) where I was involved in the children's choir in Rutter's Mass of the Children in April 2007. I really enjoyed the different style of singing to what I had previously experienced. I am learning a lot by working with such a large choir and orchestra. Mostly I would say I am a sporty person, because I play a lot of Tennis and Rounders, but I really benefit from being in Trianon because it is so different from what I am used to doing. Trianon has also given me the opportunity to improve my singing. |

Ian France – Tenor I joined Trianon probably some seven years ago having always been a singer but had never been involved in singing in four parts in a choir. I sing tenor and although I could read music, I was a little apprehensive about going to the first few rehearsals but soon discovered I knew one or two people. I stood surrounded by some very good singers which gave me confidence and the guys are a great help and always encouraging. I have learned so much and I enjoy the rehearsals which are hard work but also fun. You soon get to know the singers around you, they are a friendly bunch. The concerts in the community are really great for getting to know people and I thoroughly recommend being involved with these. If you can sing and would like to join a choir then you will not do better than coming to give us a try. |

Catherine Allen – Violin I've just taken part in my seventh concert with Trianon, so I've been a member for just over 2 years. Having started when I was working towards grade 6, it's been great experience to play alongside other musicians of such a high standard, and has really helped me improve my playing. Through being a member, I have also had the opportunity to play much more challenging pieces than we are able to attempt at school. |

James Symington – Double Bass I joined Trianon during 2006, and it has been a brilliant experience. Trianon gives me a chance to play in a full orchestra on my Double Bass. Before I joined, I had never played a double bass with other double basses with me, because they are so rare, and the only other chance I had to play was at school, so Trianon gave me that opportunity. Just being a part of the amazing sound that the orchestra makes when playing well known film music puts a shiver up my spine. I remember my first Christmas concert, when we played a Disney selection, I had never come back from a concert with a bigger smile than I did on that day. I was really proud to be a member of Trianon.

Lisa and Mark Cheadle – Brass "Lisa has been a member of the orchestra since
1991 and is the leader of the french horn section; Mark joined the trumpet section in 2003. Both Lisa and Mark grew up in the Brass Band world and find playing in an orchestra very different, but rewarding. Being husband and wife they obviously share their musical interest and enjoy playing in prestigious concert venues such as Snape Maltings." |

Judith Nichols – Oboe I first got involved in Trianon about 4 years ago when a friend asked if I could help out with their next concert as they were short of oboes. I agreed, little knowing what I was letting myself in for! I duly went along to a few practices and played in the January concert of that year. That, I thought, was that until I was asked to play in the next concert as well…and so it went on. Chris then asked me to join formally and here I am still! I really enjoy playing oboe and cor anglais with Trianon because it gives me the opportunity to play the kind of music you normally hear on the radio or on
CDs – big symphonic works, great collaborations with choir. It’s also a good place to make and build friendships. |
