MISCELLANEOUS NEWSChoir Accompanists We are grateful for the many friends and colleagues who have provided assistance in accompanying the Choir in the past two concerts. We shall surely continue to wish to make use of their services. However, we are also pleased to announce that for the summer rehearsal period we will be joined by JUDITH INGE as accompanist. Judith, who lives in Felixstowe, has taught in a number of local secondary schools and also has accompanied a number of choirs. Treat her gently – (that’s for the conductor). Trianon performs at Ipswich Music Day Members for Trianon will, we hope, be performing in one of the slots on Ipswich Music Day on Sunday July 6. The two Classical Stages always provide a great opportunity for an afternoon’s entertainment, so do check the Trianon website to be informed of the time when Trianon will be performing. New Commissions Elsewhere in Trianon News there is news about the plans proceeding to mark Trianon’s 50 th Anniversary. One definite is that there will be a new work written for the Orchestra by Matthew Curtis. This concert overture is scheduled for its world premiere in the January 2009 concert, and the score is already completed in its first version. Matthew’s music, featured on many CDs, is especially attractive and we are honoured that he has responded so quickly. Grandparents There are two sets of proud grandparents in Trianon Janet and Lewis Dann (choir and orchestra respectively) are new grandparents. A son, William, was born to their eldest daughter, Natalie and partner, Trevor Murray, Queen Mary’s Hospital on 15 April in St Mary’s Hospital London. Chris and Sylvia Green are also new grandparents. A son, Cameron, was born to their daughter-in-law and son, Hailey and Richard on 29 April in Manley Hospital , New South Wales , Australia. |
